What to do in case of an Emergency

Vehicle Related Emergencies

Vehicle related injuries are commonly called "Hit-by-Car" or "HBC" injuries in veterinary medicine. These injuries can vary in severity from minor abrasions to sudden death, depending on how much trauma is involved.

All pets with traumatic injuries should be evaluated by a veterinarian right away; without treatment a pet may die from shock or internal injuries. Common internal injuries include closed-head injuries, spinal cord injuries, collapsed lungs, torn diaphragms, ruptured spleens and ruptured bladders.

Our hospital is equipped to treat vehicle related injuries and to provide trauma care to your pet should the need arise.
